Marcus Thompson – Founder & Head Coach
Marcus brings over 20 years of basketball experience as both a player and a coach. A former semi-professional athlete, he founded SUN FM Basketball Socials to create a space where learning, mentorship, and fun come together. Marcus is passionate about player development and believes that basketball teaches the discipline and teamwork essential for success in all areas of life. His approach emphasizes inclusivity, motivation, and lifelong love for the game.Marcus founded SUN FM Basketball Socials with the vision of creating a space where players of all ages and skill levels could come together to learn, grow, and enjoy the game in a supportive and inclusive environment. His goal was to bridge the gap between competitive skill-building and meaningful mentorship, ensuring that every participant benefits from both technical instruction and positive guidance. Under his leadership, the organization has become a place where learning, teamwork, and fun coexist, and where players feel encouraged to pursue their full potential.

Tanya Williams – Program Director
Tanya oversees all events, youth programs, and player engagement initiatives. With a background in sports management and early athletic development, she ensures every program runs smoothly and meets the needs of our diverse participants. Tanya’s warm, encouraging leadership style creates an atmosphere where every player feels supported and inspired to grow.Beyond her organizational skills, Tanya is celebrated for her warm and encouraging leadership style. She has a natural ability to connect with players, families, and staff alike, fostering an atmosphere of trust, respect, and motivation. James Lee – Community Engagement Coordinator
James specializes in building partnerships and connecting SUN FM Basketball Socials with local organizations, schools, and families. His work focuses on community outreach, volunteer coordination, and event planning. James believes that basketball is a universal language that brings people together, and he’s dedicated to making that connection stronger every day.A natural connector, James believes that basketball is a universal language capable of bridging differences, creating shared experiences, and inspiring lasting relationships. He works tirelessly to bring together diverse groups of people, creating programs and events where players, families, volunteers, and community members can come together, learn from one another, and celebrate their shared love of the game. Rebecca Ortiz – Youth Development Coach
Rebecca is known for her compassionate coaching style and her commitment to helping young players develop confidence and discipline. With a background in education and sports psychology, she integrates emotional intelligence into training sessions, helping players balance performance with well-being.With her extensive background in education, Rebecca understands how children and teens learn best, and she carefully designs training sessions that are engaging, age-appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each player.
